The 73nd Egyptian National Day

In a special evening that blended the fragrance of history with the elegance of diplomacy, I had the honor of participating and performing at the official reception hosted by the Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt in the Sultanate of Oman, marking the 73rd anniversary of the glorious July 23 Revolution. The ceremony was held at the “Inter city Hotel” in the capital, Muscat, and witnessed high-level attendance that lent the event an air of prestige and significance.

As an Oud player and composer, I have always believed that music is the truest bridge for expressing the depth of cultural ties. During this celebration, I presented musical segments through which I sought to merge the magic of authentic Eastern Maqams with the refined diplomatic atmosphere. The strings of the Oud resonated with melodies reflecting the rich Arab heritage, harmonizing with the fraternal spirit that brought the attendees together.

This cultural and political harmony was evident in the opening speech by H.E. Ambassador Khaled Radi, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to the Sultanate. He welcomed the distinguished guests, led by Their Excellencies the Ministers of Information, Housing, Higher Education, and Labor, alongside officials from the Omani Ministry of Foreign Affairs and heads of diplomatic missions.

The Ambassador spoke about the deep, close relations between Egypt and the Sultanate of Oman, and the tangible progress in various fields of mutual cooperation between the two brotherly nations. Performing in such an atmosphere that celebrates both a shared history and future gives the musical performance a purposeful dimension that complements the event, where the language of melodies aligns perfectly with the language of diplomacy.

Integrating art and music into such major national occasions underscores the vital role of music in strengthening relations between peoples and highlighting cultural identity. I deeply cherish this artistic experience in Muscat, which provided me with the opportunity to present the soul of Eastern music in a prestigious diplomatic setting, and I always look forward to sharing more melodies in future forums.
