A Touching Bilingual Reading

The Muscat International Book Fair hosted an exceptional cultural event as part of the “French Weeks”, featuring moving, bilingual (Arabic and French) recitations of poetry crafted by a selection of prominent Palestinian poetesses, beautifully conveying profound themes of identity, land, and human hope.

What I hope added a deeper poetic dimension to the evening was my live accompaniment of this creative performance on the oud. The warm Eastern melodies intertwined seamlessly with the spoken rhythms of the recited verses. This synergy between the translated word and authentic notes succeeded in building an emotional bridge connecting Arabic and French cultures, offering the audience an unforgettable, integrated artistic experience that reflects the true power of cross-border arts.
